Xi’s main research project involves observation of dewetting dynamics in ultra-thin metal films on silicon substrates. Currently he is working on analyzing the intrinsic strain and stress of ultra-thin Ni films on silicon substrates. His Masters research mainly focused on heteroepitaxy and photochemical property of self-assembled SrTiO3-Fe2O3 nanostructures prepared by pulsed laser deposition.
